Swarm season is in full swing! Today, I caught and relocated a honey bee swarm right from my backyard using the Interceptor Honey Bee Swarm Trap. In fact, there were two swarms settling into my carambola tree, a clear sign that it’s time to start catching swarms!
By capturing your own swarms, you can:
✅ Build strong, local colonies adapted to your environment
✅ Save money by avoiding the cost of buying bees
✅ Support pollination for your garden and local ecosystem
✅ Harvest raw, local honey from healthy, self-sustaining bees
✅ Prevent swarms from settling in unwanted places
After catching them, I moved both swarms into hive boxes where they’ll have a safe place to grow. If you're into beekeeping or thinking about starting, swarm trapping is one of the best ways to expand your apiary naturally!
